4 things every contractor website needs
Starting a website is difficult. We all fight the urge to make sure we provide everything for everyone. However, by drilling down on our audience, and putting ourselves in our customers shoes, we can focus in on executing these 4 key features that every contractor website needs in order to convert more leads into customers.
1.) Easy navigation to services: Simply put, make it easy for people to get ahold of you. My role is to always ensure that there are appropriate calls to action. Whether that be buttons, links, or interactive icons. The more accessible we are the greater chance we have of people contacting us.
2.) Analytics and Tracking environments are installed: We can’t learn from our marketing strategy if we don’t measure it? As your marketing partner I set up my clients for success by ensuring we have tracking environments properly installed so that I can gather real-time data so we can make decisions on where we can improve your website and our strategies. We don’t like to go off of feelings here.
3.) Functionality over design: This is a sticky topic, because design is important. Design makes you feel good, it pleases the senses, it gives you something to brag about and show off. However, I am concerned with getting you leads and conversions. I’m all for design, and if design elements slow down our website, interfere with mobile friendliness, etc. then my job is to pivot and find a solution that does not fully compromise either.
4.) Helpful and informative: This is where I need a little bit of your expertise and time. We are not going to be able to service everyone. Let’s face it, if we try to be everything for everyone, then we will just be servicing no one. For example, I need to know what jobs you want more of, what you want less of, your expertise, visual representations of your work, your service areas, and finally, you and your brand. I’m here to represent your voice and the more I can learn from you, the better our relationship will be.
I wanted to keep this a shorter post, because I feel that a website should be concise and to the point. We need to make sure it’s easy for people to understand who you are, what you do, where you offer your services, when you offer your services and how much you charge for your services.
